Description

In January 1983, the first Montero made its debut at the Paris Dakar Rally, taking first place in 1985 at only the third attempt. To date, the Montero is the most successful vehicle in Dakar Rally history, winning its class 7 times which gave the Montero its excellent off road reputation.

The Tamiya 1/10 scale R/C model of a first generation Mitsubishi Montero will certainly turn heads at the track with its beautifully crafted body which is manufactured from impact-resistant plastic. The body also features large fenders, a roll bar and auxiliary lights. The cargo area is fitted with boxes and a spare wheel to enhance its appearance and scale realism.

The ABS box-type frame chassis, from the ever popular Lunch Box (2005), is equipped with a wheelie bar to enable dynamic and fun wheelie action. Front independent swing axle suspension and rear rolling rigid suspension is fitted with massive 115mm diameter tires to enable the truck to romp over all types of terrain. In addition, the fully-enclosed gearbox protects against dirt and debris and is equipped with differential gears to provide smooth cornering.
