Italeri 1/35 Scale M3A1 Plastic Model Kit

Description

The light tank M3 began to equip the U.S. Army from the beginning of 1941. Powered by a 250 hp air-cooled engine the M3 was able to reach speeds up to 60kph. It was used in large numbers in the Mediterranean theater of war during Operation Torch, the American landing in North Africa.

The M-3 was characterized by a relatively light armor of only 45mm and the armaments consisted of a 37mm, a main gun too small to penetrate the armor of Axis forces medium and heavy tanks. After the failures obtained against the German tanks, it was used almost exclusively for reconnaissance tasks flanking medium tanks like Shermans.

The Italeri range of kits are manufactured from tough styrene plastic and provide a high level of scale detail.
