Nothing beats a fabric covered model for good looks. Unfortunately an authentic fabric finish can take many hours of work and many different materials. Solartex comes to the rescue with their pre-colored, iron on fabric. Made in England by the Solarfilm company, they are one of the original model covering manufacturers. They have been making model coverings since 1968.

This easy to apply fabric covering is much stronger than plastic films, plus it adds the realistic fabric finish seen on many full scale aircraft. With a wide variety of colors to choose from, there is something for everyone. Solartex has a fuel proof finish already, so all you need to do is apply it to your model with no extra sealants needed. The matte finish is perfect for use on scale and old timer open frame airplanes. The heat activated adhesive works at lower temperatures so applying Solartex directly to sheeted foam surfaces is no problem. Solartex is quite flexible, conforming to compound curves like wing tips and even undercambered wings with ease.
